Walls (and fences) at Union College
An exhibit featuring materials from Special Collections & Archives
Curated by the Students of Fall 2024 HST 279 - Walls (and Fences)
Over the course of 3 class sessions this fall term, students in Joyce Madancy’s HST-279 “Walls (and Fences)” class explored the history of the Terrace Wall, the fences around campus, and the Payne Gate. After conducting primary source research, students selected materials, determined the exhibit's themes and narratives, and designed each exhibit case to complement and support the conclusions of their research.
Each item in this exhibit is accompanied by a student-created descriptive label. Learn more about the campus around us - in the students' own words.
