About
This site features a selection of current and past exhibitions held in Schaffer Library at Union College or using collections from the library. Exhibitions are an essential component of library services, providing an opportunity to showcase the wide variety of materials, projects, and collaborations possible through this medium.
Exhibit themes are often connected to curricular or thematic initiatives and events at the College. They are designed and executed by teams that may include faculty, students, alumni, invited artists, staff, and librarians. These teams draw upon the rich array of resources available at the library, from the general collection to rare books, manuscripts, special collections, government documents, digital collections, donated items, and on occasion objects on loan from College partners. Each exhibition provides contextual information and connecting narratives written by each team, allowing visitors to understand these objects in new ways.
